Alice Newton was born on 28 February 1686^{[1] [2][3]} in Colchester, New London, Connecticut^[1][2] [or Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut^[3]]. She was the daughter of James Newton and Mary Hubbell.^[1][2][3]

Alice married Robert Ransom.^[3][4] They had the following children^[3]:
