Biography

Lt. Samuel Newton, the son of Samuel Newton and Deborah Baldwin, was born 7 December 1737, baptized 18 April 1742 and died 31 December 1814 at the age of 77. He married (1) Mary Camp on 13 May 1762 and (2) on 9 January 1811 Hanna Treat, the daughter of Joseph Treat and widow of Enoch Clark and Zenas Peck. Samuel and his first wife Mary Camp had 9 children: Mary, Samuel, Phebe, Martha, Camp, Joseph, Camp, Deborah, and Amadeus.[1]
