NEWTON—O'DONOGHUE (1922, January 20). National Advocate (Bathurst, NSW : 1889 - 1954), p. 2.http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article158695269 NEWTON— O'DONOGHUE The marriage of Cecil Walter, young- est son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles New- ton of Canowindra, to Kathleen, sec- ond daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew O'Donoghue, of 21 Brilliant street, Bathurst South was solemnised in S.S. Michael and John's Presbytery last evening by the Rev. Father Dunne. The bride was attired in a pretty wedding dress of ivory crepe de chene and wreath and veil, (the latter being given by a friend of the bride), and carried a beautiful bouquet of cactus dahlias. The bridesmaid was Miss Mary O'Donoghue, eldest sister of the bride. She wore a poyder blue fuji silk costume, and a black aeroplane hat to match. She also wore a Nel- lie Stewart bangle and carried a bou- quet of pink carnations and roses (gifts of the bridegroom). Mr. Cecil Atkinson, cousin of the bride, was best man. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a xylonite set. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's cousins (Mr. and Mrs. A. Smith, of 19 Lort Street). Mr. J. O'Donoghue, uncle of the bride, presided over an assem- blage of about thirty guests, and the usual toasts were duly honored. The newly-married couple left by the mail train for the Caves and Sydney where the honeymoon is being spent. The bride travelled in a dress of striped fuji silk, with leghorn hat to match. Their future homo will be at Sunny Vale Canowindra.
