Robert was born about 1896. In the 1901 census Robert (age 6) was the son of John Newton in St Michael's Church, Alnwick, Northumberland, England.[1] In the 1911 census Robert (age 15) was the single son of John Newton in Alnwick, Northumberland, England.[2]
