Biography

Ellen was born on 28 March 1878 in Morpeth, Northumberland, her parents were James and Jane Nichol. [See birth certificate uploaded as a source]. Her birth was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1878 in the Morpeth district.^[1]

In the 1881 census Ellen (age 3) was the daughter of James Nichol in Copper Chare, Morpeth, Northumberland, England.^[2][3]

In the 1891 census Ellen (age 13) was the daughter of James Nichol in Morpeth, Morpeth, Northumberland, England.^[4][5]

Ellen married James Middlemiss on 4 October 1897, their marriage was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1897 in the Morpeth district.^[6][7]. They had 8 children:
