Biography

Born 1831 in Downham. In the 1841 she was ten years and living with her parents Philip & Sarah Nicholas, at Little Street, Downham. In the 1851 her parents are now living in Mill End, Downham, Ely, Cambridgeshire. Her age in the census was 17. Elizabeth married Philip Cray in November 1859 in Littleport. In the 1861 census they were not long married and living at Black Horse Drove in Littleport. In the house they had two lodgers. During the next six years Elizabeth gives birth to three boys. The youngest dies not long after his birth in 1867. Elizabeth herself passes away May 1867 in Littleport, Ely.
