Biography

John Travis Nickels was born in 1812 in Wayne County, Kentucky. His parents were Stephen Nicholas and [[Spurlock-314|Betsy Spurlock. He married Dicy Davis 9 Sep 1839, in Mill Springs, Wayne County, Kentucky. John Travis Nickels passed away 1887 in his hometown, having lived a long life of 75 years, and was buried there.[1][2]

Nichols-1310 and Nicholas-309 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate... I'd go with the Nicholas spelling, as supported by siblings, but the Travis middle name is probably legit? The middle F could be from a spelling or reading handwriting error...? Check available sources...
