Biography
Jean Baptiste Nicholas was born in July, 1844 in Louisiana[1] to Francois Nicholas and Mary (Unknown) Nicholas.[2] By the time Jean was 5, his mother was widowed. She married Marcelin Folse, and by his 16th birthday, she was widowed again.[3][4]
Jean Baptiste enlisted in the CSA servings as a private in Company G, 30th (Sumter) Regiment, for Louisiana.[5]
Jean Baptist died in 1901 and his grave is reportedly lost.
