SUDDEN DEATH AT FOREST REEFS
It is with deep regret we have to report the sad news of the sudden death of Mr. Thomas Nicholls, of Forest Reefs, which sad event occurred sometime during Wednesday night. The deceased was in his usual good health when he went to bed on Wednesday night, and was found dead by his daughter on Thursday morning. The deceased was well-known, and highly respected throughout the district, in which he spent the greater part of his life. He only survived his wife about two years. He leaves a family of nine to mourn their loss, seven daughters, viz: Mesdames Brown, Jacobs, Allan, Rambough, Blackmore, and Misses Lily and Gladys, and two sons, viz: Samuel and Thomas, both married. The deceased's genial and charitable disposition made him a general favorite sic with all classes. His death will be mourned by a large circle of friends. We extend to the sorrowing relatives our sincerest sympathy in their sad bereavement.
Senior-constable Hart journeyed to Forest Reefs yesterday morning for the purpose of getting a report for the Coroner, who will hold an enquiry on the sad event. We have just been informed that the Coroner has dispensed with an enquiry. [1]

THE LATE MRS THOS. NICHOLLS.
Sincere regret was felt throughout the district on the announcement of the death of the above lady, though the sad event was not unexpected, as Mrs Nicholls had been in a critical state of health for some time. The late Mrs Nicholls was a sister of Mr Wm Hooper, of Millthorpe, and had resided over 40 years in the Springhill and Forest Reefs districts. She left a husband and large family to mourn their irreparable loss. The deceased lady was of a kindly, generous nature, and the writer has often been accorded the hospitality of the family when doing business in the neighborhood. We tender sincere sympathy to Mr Nicholls and his family; also to the Blackmore's, of Millthorpe, and many other families in the district who were related to the Nicholl's family by marriage. [3]
