Biography
Silas was born about 1840.
Despite confusion on family trees he is not the Silas Nichols who died in October 1863 in Virginia.
Research Notes
On most (poorly or unsourced) family trees he is listed as the son of Anna (Randall) and Thomas Nichols. It is unknown if this is true. He is also listed as dying in May 1864 on said trees. There are no sources to support this.
