Biography

Elizabeth Nichols was born in 1728 in Chester County, Pennsylvania], the ninth of eleven children and the youngest of four daughters of John Nicholls and Sarah Edmonson.

Elizabeth Nichols King Birth: 1727; Death: 1808 (aged 80–81) Greene County, Tennessee, USA; Burial: Mount Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Afton, Greene County, Tennessee, USA. Memorial #: 14716052. Wife to Edward King. Married 1751 in Pennsylvania. Family Members: Spouse: Edward King (1720-1790); Children: William Kirby King (1752-1840), Thomas King (1754-1847), John King (1758-1837), David King (1765-1817), Sarah King (1770-1808).[1]

Alternate year of birth: 1727 Alternate father: Jonathan Nicholls (Nicholls-1036), b. 1703 d. 1774. (Elizabeth was his only known child of Jonathan Nicholls.)

At an unknown date and place, she married Edward King. She bore him eight known children, five sons and three daughters:

  2. David King,
  3. Thomas King, Thomas King
  4. James King, [King-5994|James King]], [King-19233|James King]]
  5. Betsy King, Elizabeth King
  6. Samuel King
  7. Peggie King
  8. Sally King
  9. John King

In later years, after the death of her second husband, Elizabeth went to live with her daughter, Betsie, who had married Samuel Dinsmore and moved to Greene County, Tennessee. She died about the year 1808 and was buried in United Methodist Church Cemetery, Afton, Greene County, Tennessee.

In 1808, when she was about eighty, she died of unknown causes in Greene County, Tennessee. Alternate place of death: in Holston Valley, Sullivan County, Tennessee.
