George Provost Nichols was born 6 May 1809 in Aylesford, Kings Co., NS. He died 18 Apr 1858 in Berwick, Kings Co., NS ae 49.

He married Minetta Ann Dodge, 2 Feb 1831 in Aylesford, Kings Co., NS. She was born 19 Sep 1808 in Wilmot, Annapolis Co., NS, the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Rulofson) Dodge. She died 7 Sep 1890 age 82 in Berwick, Kings Co., NS and is buried in Berwick.

George was a farmer in Aylesford Township in 1838 with 1 son and 2 daughters under 6 [Margaret, Sarah, George].

In 1851, George, 40-60, was residing in Aylesford with 2 sons under 10 [Evander, Isaiah], 2 dau. under 10 [Mary Jane, Ada], 1 son, 10-20 [George] and 1 dau. 20-30 [Sarah].
