Biography
Tommie Della Nichols was born on May 19, 1890, in Arkansas, to Samuel and "Sudie" Nichols. She married Wister Allen Gentry on July 4, 1907, in Pottawatomie, Oklahoma. They had two children during their marriage, Elmer Fletcher Gentry (he later changed his name to Michael Elmer gentry), and Harold Chester Gentry. Sometime, after her mother had died (1913), Tommie and her little family moved to St. Louis, Missouri, and that's where Tommie died from Variola (smallpox), on 27 May 1917, she was only 27 yrs. old. she is listed on her death certificate by her middle name, Della Gentry. She is buried in the "New Saint Marcus Cemetery and Mausoleum", located in Afton, St. Louis County, Missouri. Plot location: Block 5.
