Alexander Dayton Nichols and Mary Jane Nichols were first cousins. Alexander's parents were Elijah H. Nichols and Christina Neal. Mary Jane Nichols parents were John Westley Nichols and Barbara Jane Cobb. Elijah and Westley parents were William Nichols and Jane Lilly. Westley the first child and Elijah being the second child.
It took several years of search to come to the conclusion. Neva Bryant Stout (well known genealogist, she wrote a online newsletter "The Nichols") and myself found proof of the relationship. We new the family history but could not find proof for years.

Also if you have any proof that William is Zephaniah Nichol's son, I need that documentation. Thank you! Michelle Miller
