Biography

John Thomas Nicholson was born 1849 in Hiawassee Georgia to father Samuel Nicholson and mother Sarah Hooper.^[1]

John Nicholson was enumerated at Towns County, Georgia for the August 3, United States Census, 1860. He was noted as born 1849 in Georgia as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are male Samul Nicholson, female Sarah Nicholson, male Andrew Nicholson, female Martha Nicholson and male Caroline (Cacolimbus?) Nicholson.^[2]

John Nicholson was enumerated at Hiwassee Post Office, Towns County, Georgia for the August 2, United States Census, 1870. He was noted as born 1848-1849 in Georgia and a farm laborer. He was marked as attending school in the last year as seen in this image of the original census.
