Catharine was born in 1816. She passed away in 1893.

OBITUARY: Died, at her residence in Paw Paw township, Dekalb County, Illinois, Feb.13, 1893, Mrs. Catherine Cory, aged seventy-six years. Catherine Nicholson was born in Putnam county, N. Y., Sept. 23 1816. She was married to Mr. Jesse Cory in 1843. They came to Illinois the same year and in 1846 settled on the farm which was thence forth their home. Mrs. Cory was one of the most earnest and helpful members of the Rollo Congregational church. She was always active in every good work, and her helpfulness to the sick and to all in need is gratefully remembered and she will be sorely missed. The evening of this long life was as beautiful with thoughtfulness for others as its noontide strength had been with the more active work of benevolence. Cheerfulness, gratitude for every kindness, pleasure in having her children with her in her last hours; patience in pain and joy in the saving grace of Him whom she had early made her Friend, characterized her to the last. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. W. W. Dawson of Shabbona Congregational church, were held at her late residence, and she was borne to her rest in the cemetery at East Paw Paw.
