Research Notes

Note: He moved from Sparrau in 1847 to Pologe in the Alexandrovsk District where he had an oil press in 1852 per the 1852 List of People Living Outside the Molotschna Colony.

In the 1850 Molotschna Colony Census he was listed with his father's family at Sparrau #63, however.

He was residing in Neuanlage in the Puchtin Settlement in 1863 per the Molotschna School Registers.

One source says that he was born 12 Dec 1808, but his age is given as 1/2 in the Oct 1810 Chortitza Colony Census.

His parents weren't married until 25 July 1809. He was probably born in the spring of 1810.

Nikkel-59 and Nickel-537 appear to represent the same person because: Matching parents, birth and death suggest these are the same person. Nikkel and Nickel are a common spelling variations in this family.
