His death certificate records Samuel Davis Nickell, age 68 years 9 months 28 days, born 3 Aug 1862 in Morehead, Ky, died 31 May 1931 in Middletown, Butler Co., Ohio, residence 2209 South St., married, husband of Dora Nickell, occupation steel worker, employer Armco, father Valler Nickell, mother’s maiden name Nancy Brown, both born in Morehead, Ky, cause of death bullet wound of brain suicidal, informant Dora Nickell, same address, burial in Woodside.

1920 census of Butler Co., Ohio, Lemon township Middletown ward 4, enumerated 14 Jan, lists on p. 8B as family #140/152, at 1213 South St: Nickell, Samuel, 57, steel worker at rooting mill; Dora, wife, 26; Eula, dau, 6. All born Ky Ky Ky.

1930 census of Butler Co., Ohio, Middletown ward 4, enumerated in April, lists on p. 16A at 2209 South Ave, as family #334/355: Nickell, Samuel, 68, age at first marriage 25, b. Samuel Davis Nickell is the son of Fowler Nickell and Nancy Jane Brown. He married Dora Porter 18 Mar 1918 in Hamilton, Butler Co., OH.
