Henry Candlish Nicol (1834-?)

Henry Candlish Nicol was born 19 February 1834 at Dalrymple, Ayrshire, Scotland. He was the son of John Nicol and Agnes Candlish. ^[1]

The Scotland Census of 1841 records: Ann Candlish age 60, occupation: Farmer, is living at Nether Mill, Ayrshire, Scotland. Also living with her are: Agness Brown age 90, John Nicol age 30, occupation: Wool Carder, and his wife, Agnes Nicol age 30, and their children: Henry Nicol age 7, Ann Nicol age 5, James Nicol age 2, and Daniel Nicol age under 12 months.

Note: Ann Candlish age 60 is the mother of Agnes (Candlish) Nicol.

The Scotland Census of 1851 records: Ann McCandlish age 72, occupation: Farmer of 8 acres, and her grandsons, Henry C. Nicol age 17, occupation: Handloom Weaver Woollen, and Daniel Nicol age 10, occupation: Scholar are living at Skeldon Mills, Kyle, Ayrshire, Scotland.
