Biography

Margaret Ann Bettens was born in 1844 in Ross and Cromarty of the Black Isle in Scotland. Her father was Alexander Corbet and her mother was Margaret Nicol. Margaret emigrated with her father, siblings and aunt.

Emigrated to Australia. 1859 onboard the Eagle, sailing from Liverpool. Her mother Margaret had died before they left. Her Aunt Elizabeth went with them to Australia instead to help with and look after the children.
