Biography

Was in Liverpool at 38 Lucan Road, Aigburth, with parents 1920-1938 approximately, although her father was away at sea as a Ship's Officer with the White Star Line for long periods until becoming unemployed long term in 1934. She worked in the Admiralty during WW2, in Bath and London. Her first serious boyfriend was a gunner in Bomber Command and was killed in action. As was usual then, she gave up work on getting married, in late 1946 to Leslie Haigh, a fellow member of the City Temple in London.

From 1947 lived in Carshalton Surrey and had four children there. Member of various non-conformist churches. Along with Leslie was an enthusiastic member of the Sutton Society for Mentally Handicapped Children, as it then was, as a result of giving birth to an afflicted third son William.

Moved to Ayr, Scotland, in 1972.
