At St Edward’s Church, Romford, Essex, on the 22d instant, by the Venerable Archdeacon Grant, DCL., Mr James Bryden Nicoll, of Hawkhill Place, Dundee, only son of the late Thomas Nicoll Esq., Dundee, formerly of Kingston, Jamaica, to Maria Martha, eldest daughter of Peter Hayward Delamare Esq. Romford. [4]
He was a wine merchant in Dundee at 9 & 13 Nethergate, with wine cellar at Camerdown Ct. At the time of his death his address was 3 Park Pl. He m. Martha DE LA MARE on 22 June 1852, and they had six children: Brydon (or Bryden) Hayward NICOLL [who migrated to Portland, OR, USA, circa 1880], James Schnobell NICOLL, George Duncan NICOLL [my grandfather who followed his brother circa 1888], Charlotte Harriet NICOLL, Edith NICOLL Carmichael, and Percy D.
