Biography

Jonathan was born in Colaraine, Ireland in 1782, the son of Jonathan Nicolls and Anna Cuppage.

Jonathan joined the Royal Navy, and by15 November 1807 at the age of 25, he was appointed Commander in the Royal Navy.

After he invalided out of the Navy in 1844, he returned to Coleraine and appears to have been living with his mother. Reference the Coleraine Chronicle 13 July 1844
