Jasper was born in Philadelphia on 6 Jul 1919. He was the son of Jasper Nicolls and Margaret Moffly and was christened at the 2nd Presbyterian Church in Germantown on 21 Dec 1919.

Around the time of his birth, his parents had moved to a newly built apartment building called Pelham Court on Emlen Street.

His mother had died in 1925 and 4 years later, his father remarried.
By 1930, they had moved to St Martins Lane, Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia,

and Jasper attended Chestnut Hill Academy.

In his late teens, Jasper travelled with his parents taking several trips, once across to Europe in the summer of 1938 arriving in Southampton aboard "Europa" on 1st August

returning one month later aboard "Tuscania".

By 1940, the family have moved to Plymouth Meeting, Montgomery County,

and Jasper is attending Williams College, Williamstown, Massachusetts.

Jasper married Anne Margaret Gormley on 15th August 1942 in Boston, Massachusetts.

The couple had 2 children.
Jasper died on 5 Jul 1979 in Weston, Massachusetts.
