Hello Hans,

I understand your concerns. Here are my answers.

1) General James Winchester is a major player in Tennessee History. I am the Tennessee Project Leader. I wrote his profile, then adopted the profile to be managed by the project. It may be featured in a Profile of the Week in the near future.

2) The warning is a standard warning for all project protected profiles. See here for questions about how to work on project protected profiles.

3) I am also a descendant, I just haven't gotten the line completed yet. I do mine one at a time, compiling all sources before I make a new profile so I can complete it all at once.

Please let me know if you have further questions or need help.

Hans,

I am well aware of the fact that dates and places can be changed. But I wish to point out that for Sergeant Matthew Mullins, there are a total of 18 sources, with a will and other items. This profile is in a project, and has a note to not merge until consulting with J Ricketts. Your Matthew Mullins has one source, which is one source that taken by itself, does not equate as a hard source.

Finally, the main goal of WikiTree is accuracy. That means not forcing dates and places to fit a certain profile if you think that they are the same. It means doing the work and proving that your information is correct. I have fully researched my relative. Your's is poorly researched. So the burden is on you to prove what you say.

Hey Hans,

Yes I know about the origins of France for this family. It surprised me that he would have been born in France two generations later - interesting clue to follow.

Thanks!

Hans, Thomas James Massey [Massey-518] is on the database error list with Mary (Raines) Massey [Raines-173]. Thomas is listed as mother and Mary is listed as father on the profile of their son William P Massey [Massey-1498]. I tried making that correction during the Spring-Clean-a-Thon but couldn't due to the privacy settings.

Welcome! We are glad you are here!  Please let Kitty Smith know if you are interested in joining our DNA Project or our FTDNA Project.

If you have not done so, set your Followed preferences to include DNA.

It's not hard to add DNA test information to profiles on WikiTree, just make sure you add the tests to the actual test participant's profile & set the Privacy to ‘private w/ public biography & family tree’ to show the tester's part of our tree. For help see  How to DNA on WikiTree

We also encourage you to join our Google+ Community for DNA discussions, questions & new information.

I agree that Yancey-165 and Yancey-125 should be merged. Len Holmes also sent me a note that he agrees as well. How do we accomplish that merge?

Hans,

Do you know if this Bobo family migrated to East Texas after the Civil War was over in 1865? Thanks Ron Pearson
