Biography

Hans Peder Nelsen was born at Ørsløvunderskov Bye, Bringstrup parish, Denmark in 1846, the son of Niels Rasmussen, and Ane Marie Andersdatter. He was married at Kirke Flinterup in 1870 to Maren Hansen. He Immigrated from Copenhagen Denmark in 1884 with his wife Maren and 3 young children. He lived in Lamar, Missouri. After he retired from mill work, he lived alone for some time. All that is known about Maren was that she was institutionalized. As Hans aged he moved in with his son Carl and family in La Plata, Missouri, until his death at 98 in 1945. Hans was buried in Lamar, Missouri.
