Niels P. Nielson (1891-1988): Janesville - Niels P. Nielson, age 96, of 267 Rockport Rd., died Sun., Jan. 31, 1988 at his son's home at 1524 Barham. He was born April 6, 1891 at Pennyan, NY, to Laurits and Minnie Mikkelsen Nielson. He married Ellen Jane Hilt in 1911; she preceded him in death in 1923. He married Lynn Townsend in 1947; she preceded him in death in 1975. He was a retired assembler and utility man at General Motors. He is survived by 1 son, William L. Nielson of Janesville; 1 step-son, Robert Townsend; 1 brother, Clarence Nielson of Janesville; 2 sisters, Carrie Larson and Anna Pratt both of Janesville; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers. Funeral services will be Wed. at 1:30 p.m. at the Henning Funeral Home, Rev. Eugene Leschensky officiating. Visitation is from noon until time of services on Wednesday. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials my be made to the Visiting Nurses Association or Rock County Hospice.
