Jane Niland was born circa 1810, to unknown parents. Her maiden name may also have been Mullins.[1]
On June 20, 1837, she married Henry Buleya, in Gagetown, NB, and they had children[2][3][4][5], including:
Robert (1836-1905), who married Jane Logan. NB one source suggests Robert was Jane's son by her first husband, who was adopted by Henry. This would align with the date of their marriage.
Jemima, born 1837 who married Henry McIntosh
Elizabeth (1838-1915), who married John Ward and had 11 children

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jane by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jane:
Robert Bulyea was my great grandfather. DNA testing through Ancestry.ca has matched my DNA to two different descendants of James Albert Bulyea and Jemima Purdy, who are the parents of Henry Bulyea (or Robert's grandparents). It would seem that Henry adopted his own biological son he had with Jane Niland. This evidence supports the family story that Robert was "a true Bilyea". The story was that Jane moved into Henry's home to look after the children from his first wife. They were married shortly after Robert was born and later moved to Ontario. R. Bilyea
