Oldest child of Nils Nilsson the elder. Not to be confused with his younger brother of the same name, "Lille Nils" Nilsson Kullenberg. Unusually for siblings sharing a name, both brothers were alive at the same time.
This Nils took over the family farm, Kullagården, in 1778. When their mother passed away, the siblings agreed that the brother Truls should take over the farm, but after only a few days Truls asked to turn the farm over to his oldest brother Nils. The sales records are dated March 19 1778. In the sale was also included the custody of the three youngest siblings, Kjerstina, Petter, and Nils (Lille Nils).
Before he became the owner of Kullagården, Nils had been a sailor and a skipper, living in Mölle läge at property No 42. (This property was left empty from about 1780, and was taken over by younger brother Nils in 1798.) He married about 1769 Elna Andersdotter Pyk (b 1750). She passed away in 1807 and was a widowed at the time of her death. Nils and Elna had the following children: Kjerstina Kullenberg (1771-1806), Nils (b 1775, died in infancy), Anna Kullenberg (1776-1800, married JF Brinck), Nils (b 1779, died in infancy), Botilla (b 1781, also married JF Brinck after her sister Anna's death).[1]
