Biography

He was captured 8 Oct 1703 while tending cows in the meadow at Deerfield, and along with his half-brother Zebediah Williams, was taken to Canada. He remained there until 1705 when he and three others made their escape. He arrived back at Deerfield nearly starved from the journey. He was luckily not present for the Deerfield Massacre. Zebediah died in captivity in 1706.

He married Elizabeth Hull on 19 Dec 1707 at Deerfield, Franklin, MA - their children were John, Mehitable, Elizabeth, a second Mehitable, John Jr., Thomas, Jeremiah, Infant Son, Mary, Rebecca, a second Mary & Daniel

He is buried at Old Deerfield Burying Ground, Deerfiled, Franklin, MA
