Biography

Casper died in 1788. His last Will follows:

Casper Nine of Oley. Thownship in the County of Berks and State of Pennsylvania being of old age and weak in bodily health but of a goad and sound mind, memory and under­standing thanks be to the Almighty God and calling in mind the mortality of my body I being willing to make this my last will and testament in manner and form following.

First of all I recommend my immortal soul into the hands of the Almighty God who gave it. And my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian like decent manner at the discretion of my executors hereinafter named and it is my will that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall first be paid out of my estate.

Item. It is my will and I give and bequeath unto my dear beloved wife Barbara all my household furni­ture, cattle, bonds, notes and book debts, and ready cash left by me at the time of my death subject to my just debts and funeral expenses. And only excepting all such money due to me by my son Daniel Neun for my real estate which I have already granted bargained and sold unto him my said son, Daniel and to his heirs and assigns for ever. If in case my said wife remains a widow but if she marry again after my decease then it is my will that she shall have only one equal third part of the above unto her bequeathed and then the other two thirds is my will and I do give and bequeath the same unto all my children in equal shares, share and share alike.

It is my will that my said wife shall have out of the monies due or becoming due by my said son Dan­iel Neun for the premises granted by me unto him in my lifetime the just and full sum of forty pounds good and lawful money of Pennsylvania besides her livelihood and support and maintenance during her natural life.

Item. The remainder sum of two hundred and forty pounds money as aforesaid which my son Daniel and his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns is bound and shall pay to my heirs hereinafter named after my decease according to an agreement in writing between me and my said son, Daniel Neun, dated the twenty third day of April, Anno Dom One Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty Seven.

It is my will and I hereto give and bequeath the same as follows to wit, I give and bequeath unto my son, Sylvester Neun the sum of forty pounds money as aforesaid one year and a half after my decease.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Catharine intermarried unto Fredrick Meinert the sum of forty pounds money as aforesaid, two years and a half after my decease.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Susanna intermarried unto Jacob Leinbach the sum or forty pounds money as aforesaid three and a half years after my decease.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Maria intermarried unto Jacob Meinert the sum of forty pounds money as aforesaid four years and a baif after my decease.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Barbara intermarried unto Henry Shwartz the sum or forty pounds money as aforesaid five and a half years after my decease.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth intermarried unto George Shwartz tbe sum of Forty pounds money as aforesaid six and a half years after my decease, according to the agreement between me and my said son Daniel Nine for tbe payments aforesaid to be due and payable by him or his certain heirs, executors, administrators or assigns for my real estate to him granted bargained and sold as berein aforesaid.

And lastly I do ordain nominate and appoint my beloved son Daniel Neun and my trusty friend Peter Knap to be the executors of this last will and testament and to see the same executed done and performed according to my true intent and meaning. And I do hereby revoke and make void all former wills and testa­ments by me made hereby ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In wit­ness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the eleventh day of June, 1787.
