In the 1871 Census of Scotland John Nisbet (age 52), House Painter Master Brues 5 Bays, was the head of household at 15 George Street, Edinburgh St Andrew, Midlothian.[4]

John's marriage to Margaret Home was registered in 1878 in the St Andrew (Edinburgh) district.[5] Margaret Home third wife of John Nisbet who died 12 Dec 1932 in her 100th year
