Biography

Mason was born in 1878 in Alabama. His parents were Frank LeConte Nisbet and Elizabeth Lane Whitaker. He passed away in 1954. The Georgia death record indicates the date of death was 6 Sep 1954, but his grave states 8 Sep 1954.[1] Burial was in the Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge, Decatur County, Georgia. His tombstone is inscribed: Born Russell County, Alabama, Died Bainbridge, Georgia. He lies beside his wife and near his son, William Eugene.


Mason registered for the WWI draft in 1918 in Bainbridge, Decatur County, Georgia. His occupation was stated as steamboat pilot for the Callahan Lines. He listed his wife as his nearest relative. His physical description was stated as medium build and height with gray eyes and black hair.[2]

He married Mary Clifford Babbit.
