James was born in 1688. He is the son of Alexander Nisbet and Katherine Porterfield.[1] Note: this is the second son named James. The older James is presumed to have died before this James who was lost at sea around Jan 1738.


Note-All the sisters mentioned in will are his sisters from records so no doubt same James son of Alexander. Mentions no wife or children and all his property except house by harbor went to his sisters sons
