Jack was born before 1859.
He was listed in the "Inventory and Appraisement of the Estate of Edward Nix Nov 18th 59" along with his mother, Exey, and brother, Bill.[1]
When Edward Nix's estate was settled, Exey, Bill, Jack, and Anthony (presumably Anthony the blacksmith) were sold as a family unit to Edward L. Nix Jr. for $2655.[2]
