George Arthur Nixon was born on 16th June 1898 at Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia. He was a son of Arthur Nixon and Georgianna Atkins.[1]
He married Beatrice Delaforce on 11th May 1921 in Lismore, New South Wales.[2]
He served in the 2nd Australian Imperial Force during the Second World War, his final posting being to 14th Section Australian Kit Store; enlisted on 16th July 1940 at Lismore, discharged 11th May 1944.[3]
George passed away in 21st July 1971 at Ballina, New South Wales.[4]

He was living at South Gundurimba, New South Wales at time of his marriage in 1921 and lLiving at McKee's Hill at time of his mother's death in March 1932. George was living at Pinchin Lane, Goolmangar at time of enlistment in the militia (15 LH Regiment) in the second war (16 Jul 1940) - N1854. 1
His medical examination gives him as 5' 8.1/4", 157lbs, good eyesight but poor hearing in both ears. He was enlisted (1 August 1942) to the 15th Australian Motor Regiment and deployed to 14 Kit Store and served in Perth and Queensland. In April 1944 his service number was changed to NX192245 after a medical examination found him medically fit for all duties (at the age of 46). 1
He was discharged in May 1944 (being required for employment in an essential occupation), and correspondence was sent to Dunoon, where he was living at the time of his father, Arthur's death in 1948. 1
George was living at Federal, near Bangalow at the time of Bruce's wedding in 1956 and retired to Ballina, New South Wales, Australia in late 1960s; c 1967. 1
