Lucretia was the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Finch Nixon. She married first, John C Athy, on February 20, 1862 in Jay County, Indiana. He was killed in the Battle of Yellow Bayou, Louisiana May 18, 1864. They had one child that died in infancy.
Lucretia was married to John W. Gray on December 9, 1865 in Calhoun Co., Illinois. They had eight children, Clarence Monroe 1867-1938, Nora Lucretia 1871-1892, Leona J. 1873-1920, Oscar L. 1875-, Mary R Blind 1877-, Blanche L. Baumgartner 1880-, John Elsworth 1883-1941, Logan Isaac 1885-1936
Burial in November 1886 at the Blair Cemetery in Blair (Plot: Block 22, Lot 10, Space 9 ), Washington County, Nebraska.
