Biography

John was born about 1828. He was the son of Hamilton Nixon and Agnes Robinson. He passed away in 1894.[1]

In the 1861 census John is identified as being 'sick/infirm'.

d. Lower Brighton (Carleton Co.) 25th Dec., John NIXON, age 65 years 8 mos., left widow, three sons and two daughters. Bro. Nixon was a great sufferer for three months. The solemn occasion was imporved by Elder David Brooks, assisted by Revs. Trafton and Swim. Carleton Sentinel, January 13 1894.

Both John and his wife Anne (Dickinson) were buried in the Lower Brighton Cemetery near Woodstock New Brunswick

NB archives contains links to 1830/31 Probated wills and includes Hamilton Nixon's will leaving the bulk of his estate to his sons, Robert and John. John's sisters were to each receive a cow.
