Emil was born in 1895.[1] He was the son of Christian Heinrich Theodor Nobbe and Emmi, née Braunberg.[2][3]
Emil attended the public school ("Öffentliche Volksschule") at Humboldtstraße 30a in Hamburg. Later he served as a German soldier during World War I and was stationed in Ilsenburg/Harz, Bettainvillers, in the Carpathian Mountains, in Lemberg, Belœil, and Königsberg/East Prussia. He was lightly wounded before 31 Jul 1916[4] and before 29 Aug 1918.[5] He was missing in action before 4 Nov 1918.[6]
After World War I Emil stayed in Königsberg. There he married Anna Schmelkus (born 24 Nov 1889 in Werschen/East Prussia) on 21 Oct 1922. He was a typesetter ("Schriftsetzer") and worked at a newspaper printing company. Emil and Anna took their own lives in Aug 1945.
