John arrived in the colony 21 Feb 1831 on the "York" leaving England 3 Sep 1830, he was sentenced at Derby Quarter Sessions to 7 years transportation, his occupation was described as a stable hand, religion Church of England. He was aged 83 years when he died and was buried at the Camberwell cemetery. He died at the property 'SYDENHAM' at Glennies Creek near Singleton.
