Father- John Noble (22 January 1634/35 - before 10 May 1705) John Noble was christened on 22 January 1634/35 in Gt Livermere, Suffolk. He was the son of William Noble and Elizabeth Frances. John Noble married Elizabeth Ward? circa 1659 in Suffolk. This may be the marriage: John Noble of Sapiston & Elizabeth Ward of Livermere Jan 28 1667/8. He was a churchwarden in Gt Livermere, in 1663. He was also trustee of the town lands of Gt Livermere and was recorded as a yeoman. He was also paid his expenses as churchwarden in 1673 and signed the churchwardens accounts between 1682-84. John Noble was widowed on 8 May 1665 in Gt Livermere, Suffolk, on the death of his wife Elizabeth Ward?. John Noble and Richard Noble and Elizabeth Noble were beneficiaries in Elizabeth Frances's will dated 12 May 1665 in Gt Livermere. John Noble married secondly Frances Nunn on 26 May 1666 in Ampton, Suffolk. John Noble paid the hearth tax in 1674 in Gt Livermere. John Noble had 3 (4?) hearths and paid 8/-. He had land in several parishes, his estate passed to his son William. There is a memorandum of 1682 in the Bradfield St George parish register, about a house John owned on Bradfield church green which was lived in by his mother-in-law Elizabeth, the widow Nunn. Appears to be a compulsory purchase order: Mem: that upon ye seventeenth day of Oct 1682 the inhabitants of this parish or the cheif p'te of them being inct? at ye Hall at a Court there holden for this manor, did agree to give unto John Noble of Livermore the summe of seven pounds for his own right, & ye right of his wife in ye house now standing upon ye church-green, to ye little Orchard or backside thereunto belonging, which house was last before this agreement inhabited by ye wid. Nun (now dead) & mother to ye sd Nobles wife. And the sd sum of seven pounds was most of it raysed by a voluntary contribution, & ye remaining p'te wich was neer 30 s pd by the church wardens. And it was agreed to ye townsmen of Brafdfield afsd, that James Hunt of the same p'sh and his wife that now is shall freely enjoy that sd house and premises and therein inhabit during ye term of their naturall life, and the longer liver of them: And after the death of them two the whole right title & propriety (ownership) of the sd house and p'mises that belong to the townsmen or to the ov'seers and churchw'dens for the time being of Bradfield afsd. John was the last of the family to live all his life in Gt Livermere where his 9 children were baptised. John died before 10 May 1705 in Gt Livermere, Suffolk. He was buried on 10 May 1705 in Gt Livermere. John Noble made a will dated 22 August 1705 in Gt Livermere. Will of John Noble of Gt Livermere, sick in body ... I give to my son William my house and homesitting to him and heirs forever. ... to my grandson John, son of William ... (under 21), to my son Thomas and daughter Elizabeth and son Richard. His will was proved on 22 August 1705. The 1847 tithe map of Gt Livermere records three fields grouped together: 'Noble Ground' (8 acres) no. 130, 'Noble Meadow' (6 acres) no. 120, 'Fox Grove' (4 acres) no. 121 with sheds and yards no. 129 and a small triangular 'Plantation'. These last two could be the original house and orchard mentioned in Elizabeth's will dated 7 May 1665. The map also identifies, quite separately, the two fields 'Clint' (9 acres) and 'Birds Croft' (4 acres) which is now partly a housing estate, aptly named 'Birds Croft. As the small plantation still exists today, the house site and land can easily be identified. Children of John Noble and Elizabeth Ward?
