I started doing family research in 1987, when my dad said to me. What are you doing on your next vacation? I said I don't think I was going anywhere, because my wife had to work. He then said he would like to take me to Southern Illinois & show me some things. He showed me old homesteads and family cemeteries. The next thing I know I'm in the county courthouse looking up old records. That was the way you had to do it back then. It's been a fun ride. I still like looking at old records. I think the best time is when I find the land that they lived on.
Have you taken a DNA test for genealogy? If so, login to add it. If not, see our friends at Ancestry DNA.

Thanks for your insights on the Rob*** matter I have run into a lot of crazy changes and ways people spelled their names or changed it for many reasons. John

I see you made some changes to John Robison and in a connection you show his so John Robinson. Did the name get changed from Robison to Robinson? Also how could the son be born in 1839, die in 1840 and get married? My Great Grand Father was John Robison from Illinois so I was interested in a connection If there is one. Thanks, John Bjorge (Bjorge-20)
