DOROTHY M. MOWERY, 83, of 7805 Molly Pitcher Highway, Shippensburg, died Saturday morning, July 19, 2003, in Harrisburg Hospital. 1

Born Dec. 21, 1919, in Phillipsburg, N.J., she was the daughter of the late William and Bessie (Bock) Nolan. 1

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Mowery was a custodian for the Shippensburg Area School District. She also was a cook at the Episcopal Home and worked at the former Shirtcraft Co. 1

She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, Newburg, where she was a member of the Bible Sunday School Class. 1

Mrs. Mowery is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ralph I. Mowery; one son, Galen L. Mowery of Zullinger; one daughter, Carol A. Russell of Shippensburg; one sister, Georgianna Boyd of Baltimore; three grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. 1

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. 1

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in New Hope United Methodist Church, Newburg, with the Revs. Margaret H. Spengler and John A. Ile Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Hopewell Township. 1

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Wednesday in the church. 1

Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 68, Newburg, Pa. 17240. 1

Arrangements were made by Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg. 1
