Biography

Birth: 6 Jun 1873 WWI Draft registration; about 46 death certificate (1877); July 1872 age 26 1900 census (does not add right); age 6 1880 census (1874); gravestone 1876; Find A Grave: Memorial #85207063 6 Jun 1876; Calvary Cemetery records buried 12/8/1923 age 46.

The World War I (1917-1918) draft registration for James Nolan supplies the following information: Birth: 6 Jun 1873, age 45, residence 218 14th Ave North, Nashville, Tennessee; Railroad Engineer, Louisville and Nashville RailRoad; wife Mamie Nolan; tall, slender, blue eyes, gray hair, slightly ruptured; date Sep 12 (no year)[1]

James Nolan, a resident of 301 McMillian Ave., Nashville, Tennessee, died Dec 26, 1923. His widow Mamie Gibbons Nolan reported the information on his death certificate, stating he was about 46, son of John Nolan and Ann Donnelly. He was an engineer for the L & N Railroad. He was buried at Calvary Cemetery[2]

Note: Find a grave calls him James Leo Nolan Sr. He had a son James Leo Nolan, but I don't think this James had a middle name. Certainly never used in the located records.

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:
