Biography
Bettye’s mother died when she was 5. Georgia Tan (who worked with the mayor’s ofc) picked her and her sisters up and took the to Porter Leigh Orphanage. Her father refused to sign them over for adoption, unless they were all taken together. They grew up in the orphanage.
