Henry John Nolan was born in 1872 in Dunolly, Victoria, Australia, son of Michael Nolan (abt.1826-1876) & Mary (Hayes) Dillon (1840-1911) ^[1]

NOLAN—MULLINS.—On the 29th January, 1902, at St. Augustine's R.C. Church, Maryborough, by the Rev. Father Marshall, Henry John Nolan, solicitor, Dunolly, second son of the late Michael Nolan, Dunolly, to Maggie, second daughter of Michael Mullins, Esq., "Glen Lorah," Eddington. ^[3]

He passed away on February 25 1943, in Fitzroy, Victoria, Australia ^[4]

Excerpt from The Labor Call (Melbourne) Thu 4 Mar 1943 :
OBITUARY - The death occurred in St. Vincent's Hospital on February 25 of Mr. Henry John Nolan, at the age of 70. He was an accomplished scholar, and a noted athlete in his younger days. As a footrunner, he was the fastest of his Public School contemporaries. His later days were spent in retirement at Oaklands Junction. Mr. Nolan is survived by a widow, two sons and two daughters. One of the sons is Mr. M. M. Nolan, a well-known Laborite and a former member of the Central Executive of the Australian Labor Party. He also contested seats for Labor in the Federal and State Parliaments. The deceased was buried in the Bulla Cemetery on Saturday last.^[5] He is buried at Bulla Cemetery, Bulla, Victoria, Austrlia ^[6]
