Biography

Alice was the eldest of eight children in the family of Edward and Ellen O'Halloran Nolan. She was born in Minnesota before the family moved to Brainerd, Minnesota^[1]where Alice grew up. ^[2]

Alice married Edward LeMire in Crow Wing County, Minnesota, probably in Brainerd, on August 4, 1917, when she would have been about 20 years old. ^[3] The rest of her family moved to Little Fork Minnesota about this time.

Edward and Alice had a daughter Jennie, born in Brainerd about 1919.^[4]

Alice was widowed in 1924, according to a profile of her husband on Familysearch.org.^[5]

Research Notes

Alice may have been misidentified as Elizabeth on the 1900 US Census. Elizabeth is listed as the first child of Edward and Ellen Nolan, but this is the only listing of a child named Elizabeth, and there is no evidence that Edward and Ellen were the parents of two daughter born in 1896.^[6]

There is an Edward LeMire, a railroad fireman, born April 6, 1888, in Aitkin, Minnesota, who was supporting his father at time of World War I draft.^[7]

Alice and Edward's daughter Jennie may be the Jane Helena born in Koochiching County on May 1, 1918.^[8]
