Biography

The exact name of the father of Thelma Griffin has yet to be determined. It is clear it is one of the three Noll brothers, Otto seems more likely given his location and marital status, although Henry and Frederick cannot be ruled out without further DNA evidence.

The Birth Date is a rough estimate. See the text for details.

DNA

DNA analysis has suggested he could be one of 3 brothers. You can read more about how I came to this conclusion here.

As at 2018, we now have over 40 DNA matches (continually growing) whose ancestry and shared DNA fit this theory, sharing the appropriate amounts of total cMs for the potential relationships. However whilst many genetic triangulated DNA confirmations established, many matches have their results only at AncestryDNA and chromosome analysis is not always available.

Even though we do not know for certain which specific brother is the father, I now consider their parents as DNA confirmed, hence the maternal line is confirmed and the paternal line is confirmed.[1]

Close relationship matches and triangulated groups are being documented on this page in an attempt to document all supporting relationships.[2]

If you can help please do not hesitate to contact Veronica WIlliams.

Sources

  1. Details of ongoing DNA confirmations can be found on this page.
  2. Sources will be a combination of segment matches obtained primarily from GEDmatch, but may be supplemented by chromosome data from 23andMe, FTDNA and My Heritage. AncestryDNA data will only be used to confirm close matches (up to predicted 3rd cousins). Matches at AncestryDNA > 3rd cousins will only be noted as supporting evidence, as they are only considered tentative without chromosome analysis and triangulation.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Male by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Male:
