Biography

Mary Elizabeth Norman was born Oct. 9th, 1834 in Bedford, Tennessee to Reuben and Cynthia ? Norman. She resided with them in 1850 at age 16 in Bedford, Tennessee. She married James H. Coffman in 1855 in Washington Co., Arkansas and together they had four children: Elizabeth Jane, William Henry, Amanda, James Rubin., The family is found with him in the 1860 census of Upshur, Texas. Mary passed away May 28, 1870 in Upshaw. and James in 1878. She is buried in Elm Spriings Cemetery in Elm Springs, Arkansas.
