Biography

Joseph was born in 1821 in Dalston, Cumberland. In 1841 he married Margaret Wintrip. Margaret died in 1850, leaving Joseph to care for their daughter Mary Ann and Margaret's son William. By 1891 Joseph was resident at Durham County Asylum in Sedgefield. He died in Sedgefield in 1896.
